changing seasons

Along with the change of seasons comes a change in weather. This past summer, with the high humidity, you may have noticed your cabinet doors sticking when you open and close them. When humidity is high, there is a lot of water vapor in the air, and wood will naturally absorb this water. Now that the season will be changing to cooler weather and lower humidity, the dry air will pull water back out of the wood. Cabinet doors will stick less, but you may also notice expanding joints. This is a very normal process for wood cabinetry. One of our cabinetry suppliers, Holiday Kitchens, explains this process and gives tips to lessen the effects in this blog article: CONTROL YOUR HUMIDITY!
