the value in a good investment.

As consumers in todays economy, we all have to be a little more cost-conscious. We may have less money to spend or are concerned about spending more than necessary on a remodeling project. Because we are looking for the best value, does not mean we should settle for inferior service. On the contrary, outstanding service should be a top priority. Value is defined as the quality that renders something desirable or valuable. To have a successful remodeling project, we must scrutinize the companies with whom we are making that investment. And that company needs to score very high in customer service.

We can begin this process through referrals. Ultimately, though, the proof is in the reputation of a company regarding customer satisfaction, and no better proof than the referral of a satisfied customer that experienced the service firsthand. If you don’t have a personal referral then be sure to request client references from the companies you are interviewing. Things you may want to consider asking are; how well they took care of the home while they were working in it, the timeliness of the job schedule, and the coordination of the contractors. For instance, we invest in protective floor coverings and zip-walls to protect our clients home during a remodeling project. In effect, you want to be sure they take care of your home as if it were their own. You may also want to ask about communication. How will you reach someone when questions arise after business hours, how responsive was the company to any problems that came up? The company you choose should make it easy for you to reach them not only during regular business hours, but in the evenings and on weekends too. The company you hire should have a broad knowledge of the entire remodeling process. This is invaluable when troubleshooting during the project. Working in remodeling is vastly different that working in a new construction environment. Having a long history and working knowledge of the intricacies of residential remodeling is necessary to the success of the project.

We recognize that the average client may do only one or two major projects in their lifetime. In order to have the very best experience and, in the end, a beautiful and functional new space that you are proud of, seeking a higher level of service is not only a good investment, it’s a smart investment.
